How does Bark & Go work?

Sign up online, then book a free welcome visit at home so we can meet your dog. After we approve you, set up Direct Debit, then request walks in 2-hour time windows. We confirm your requests and bill you by Direct Debit each Friday for completed walks.

Do you offer group walks?

No. Bark & Go is solo walks only: one dog, one walker. Choose a 30-minute or 1-hour walk. That suits dogs who prefer their own space, are nervous around other dogs, or simply deserve undivided attention.

How long is each walk?

Accepted Answer

We offer two solo walk lengths: 30 minutes (£20) or 60 minutes (£30). You choose the length and a 2-hour time window when you request walks online.

How much do walks cost?

£20 for a solo 30-minute walk or £30 for a solo 1-hour walk. Payment is collected weekly by Direct Debit each Friday via GoCardless for walks completed in the previous week. There are no hidden travel fees within our service area.

Where do you walk dogs?

We walk locally in Didsbury and Chorlton, using parks and green spaces in South Manchester such as Fletcher Moss, Chorlton Ees, and other safe, interesting routes. We vary locations to keep walks stimulating. We only serve postcodes within our Didsbury and Chorlton service areas.

Which areas do you cover?

Didsbury (including West and East Didsbury, M20 and surrounding postcodes) and Chorlton-cum-Hardy (M21 and nearby M16 postcodes). Enter your postcode on our homepage map to check if we can help.

Question 7

Can I choose a specific time?

Accepted Answer

You request walks by choosing a 2-hour time window (for example, 8am–10am, 10am–12pm, 12pm–2pm, or 2pm–4pm). We confirm your request and aim to collect during your window. This flexible approach allows us to serve all clients effectively. You can request walks up to 14 days ahead.

Do I need to be home for collection and drop-off?

No. If you are out, you can leave a house key with us, share a key-safe code, or give other entry instructions. We collect access details at the welcome visit or on the dog intake form so we can collect and return your dog smoothly when you are not home.

How do you store house keys and entry codes securely?

Accepted Answer

You can provide a house key, key-safe code, or other entry details so we can walk your dog when you are not home. Keys are labelled privately (never with your full address on the key itself) and stored securely by Bark & Go, separate from public areas. Entry codes and access notes are kept in your private client record and used only for booked walks. We do not share keys or codes with anyone outside the service, and we ask you to tell us promptly if you change locks, codes, or access arrangements.

Will I meet my dog walker first?

Yes. After sign-up, book a free welcome visit online or email us to arrange one. We will visit at home to meet your dog, collect intake details, and discuss your walk schedule.

Question 11

Will the same person walk my dog each time?

Accepted Answer

Where possible, yes. Consistency helps your dog feel secure. On rare occasions (illness or holiday) a briefed cover walker may step in, using the intake details you have provided.

Question 12

My dog is nervous. Can you still walk them?

Accepted Answer

Solo walks are ideal for nervous dogs. There are no other client dogs on the walk. Tell us about triggers, behaviour, and recall on the intake form so we can walk at your dog's pace and build confidence gradually.

Question 13

Will my dog be walked off the lead?

Accepted Answer

Only when it is safe and appropriate, and where you have confirmed recall is reliable. If recall is uncertain, we use a long line so your dog can still explore safely. We never let a dog off lead without your agreement and a sensible assessment.

Question 14

What happens when you return my dog?

Accepted Answer

We wipe muddy paws, offer fresh water where appropriate, and make sure your dog is settled before we leave. You then receive a walk report in your account with times, notes, and any photos from the walk.

What safety measures do you have?

We keep full intake details on file: health, vaccinations, emergency vet, and contacts. We carry water on walks and follow your access and behaviour notes. In an emergency we contact you immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the vet named on their profile.

What if there is an emergency on a walk?

We call you straight away to discuss what has happened. If we cannot reach you and urgent veterinary care is needed, we take your dog to the emergency vet listed on their intake form.

Can I book occasional walks or do I need a regular schedule?

You request walks online as needed by choosing dates and 2-hour time windows. We confirm your requests. If you want a regular weekly schedule, email us and we can set it up for you.

Question 18

Do you walk in bad weather?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in most conditions. Dogs still need exercise. In storms or unsafe conditions we may reschedule and will contact you. We do our best to clean paws on return so muddy prints are kept to a minimum.

Do I pay upfront?

We collect payment weekly by Direct Debit each Friday for walks completed in the previous week via GoCardless. There are no upfront payments. Your first walk must be confirmed before we collect you.

What is Direct Debit and who is it for?

All customers pay by Direct Debit. We collect one payment each Friday via GoCardless for walks completed in the previous week. To change or cancel your Direct Debit, email lilia@barkandgo.uk.

Question 21

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancel at least 48 hours before the walk time window through your account to avoid charges. Less than 48 hours notice: email us if you need help. If we cannot access your property or your dog is not home when we arrive during your window, the walk remains payable. See our terms for full details.

Are you insured?

We operate as a professional dog walking service with appropriate insurance for the work we carry out. Ask us if you would like confirmation of cover.

Question 23

Can you walk more than one dog from my household?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Up to three dogs from the same home can be walked together on one visit. The first dog pays the full walk price; each additional dog is £5 extra. Select all dogs when you request a walk.

Question 24

Will photos of my dog appear on social media?

Accepted Answer

Walk report photos are always shared with you in your account after each walk. Social media use (Instagram etc.) is optional. You tick a separate consent box on the dog intake form and can withdraw it anytime from My dogs.
